How to Save Blogs Templates Before Changing & Editing Your Blog Template?

Hi bloggy readers,
The importance to save blogs templates for those of you who are planning to redesign your current template or changing to other templates can't be ignored. Doing a regular save blogs templates can eventually save your time and energy from fixing the mistakes you've done when editing your template. So, before you decide to edit, redesign or change your current template, you've got to read this post.

In my previous posted article about - How to backing up a widget? - i already showed you about how to save our widget codes manually before changing to another template. In that post, i mainly discussed about how to copy all the widget codes that have been added to our blog into the Notepad and then putting it back again to our blog when we finished transforming to another template. So, that's why, in this post, i want to continue the similar topic about save blogs templates code before editing/redesigning/changing the template.

Anyway, maybe this topic can be the most simple topic i have ever made in this blog, it only contains 1 simple click. Okay, read on to find out how..

1. Log in to Blogger
Now enter to your Blogger account.

2. Go to Edit HTML
In the Dashboard page, pick one of your blog and go to Layout/Design > Page Element > Edit HTML.

3. Click "Download the template"
In the Edit HTML page, there a link Download Full Template, now press that link. By pressing the Download Full Template link, you will be automatically prompted with the option to save blogs templates into your Computer.
4. Save your template into your Computer
Now save the xml file into your computer, i suggest you to save blogs templates in the Desktop of your computer, it will make easier for you when you need to upload back that file again to Blogger machine.
 
How to revert back the old template?

5. Uploading Template back again to your blog
Now, after finished editing/redesigning/changing the template, and suddenly, you made a big mistake in your blog template, but you just can't figure it out where is the wrong code section in the template specifically. Okay, that's why, you might want to revert back to the old template. By pressing the Browse button, you will be prompted to find the old template you've already saved into your Computer. Now find that template file (.xml) and press Open.

6. Press Upload
After locating the old template file in your computer, now press the Upload button. By pressing this button, Blogger will automatically upload the old template into your blog.
