Have you ever heard about MyBlogLog Community ? If you are blogger and your blog is ready to launch for people across the world, and you think that your blog is worth reading for people, now it's time to gather around in some blogger communities where bloggers all around the world joinng together and helping other fellow bloggers to gain credibility and recognition around the blogosphere.
Yeah, it's called Mybloglog. Mybloglog is the place where all the bloggers meet each other and share their stuff. What are you waiting for? Let's join MyBloglog here!
First Phase: Setting Up MyBlogblog Account
After joining to MyBlogblog website, now sign in to your MyBlogblog account using your own username and password you've already registered before and then press Sign In.
1. Press the Add Website link
Now in your MyBlogblog account, scroll down little bit and find the column named "My Sites and Service". In the bottom position of that column, you will see the link Add a Website, now press that link. By doing so, you will be brought to the new page regarding the submitting your blog to the MyBlogblog community. Now fill all the required forms such as: Blog/Site NameURL, Display NameBlog/Site, URLPorn (XXX)?, and Blog/Site Description with your blog specification. After finished filling all the required fields, now press the Add a Blog button. MyBlogblog will automatically process your blog to be added to their database.
2. Press the Widgets link
if your blog has been successfully added to MyBlogblog database, you will see the image captured from your blog you've added before in the column "My Sites and Service". Now look at the bottom of that image, there is the link called Widgets. Now press that Widget link to get MyBlogblog widget code that later, can be embedded to your blog. By pressing that Widget link, you will be brought to the the configuration page of your MyBlogblog widget.
3. Configure the MyBlogblog widget for your blog
In the configuration page, now you will be able to configure the interface of your MyBlogblog widget. Now look at the first option Recent Readers (tracking script is included). In this option, you can set up the widget by pressing the drop-down option of style, color, images, and flyout orientation with your own preference.
4. Copy the widget code
After you finished setting up your widget, it's time to copy the widget or code snippet and apply it to your blog. Now copy the script code from the option Your Blog, and then save that script code to the Notepad, which later, will be used again to be embedded into your blog.
Second Phase: Embedding MyBlogblog widget into our blog
1. Log In to Blogger Account
Now to begin this tutorial, let's go to Blogger.com and then Log in to your Blogger account.
2. Go to Layout and Edit HTML
In the Dashboard page, go to Layout/Design of your blog.
3. Find the best area for the recent comment widget
In the Page Element sub-tab, now pick the best position for MyBlogblog widget you're about to embed. My suggestion is the sidebar area, because by placing theMyBlogblog widget in this area, will get the most attention than the other areas.
4. Press the Add a Gadget
After finding the best position for the widget in your blog layout, now press the button Add a Gadget. By pressing this Add a Gadget link, you will be automatically prompted with options on adding variety of widgets. Now pick HTML/Javascript as a platform for the Myblogblog script.
5. Paste the script into the HTML/Javascript box
Okay, after pressing the option HTML/Javascript in the Add a Gadget options, you will be prompted with the empty box that can be filled with the HTML or Javascript codes. Now paste the MyBlogblog script code you've already copied (Notepad), to the empty HTML box.
6.Save the change
Now Save the template and you can see the result now.
Anyway, if you don't like that MyBlogblog widget you've already embedded, you may consider to use the old style widget of Mybloglog in its website. Log in to Mybloglog and find the words "Looking for the old-school Recent Reader widget? Find it here".
