Hi bloggy readers,
it became a customary thing if someone did a mistakes, especially as a newbie blogger. As an aphorism said that No one's ever born perfect, there's always a mistake by mistake we've done in our history in blogosphere in the process of blog learning and experience gaining. So it's fine if you did a mistake, cause i did too (perhaps until now), but it would be great if we could know it earlier and avoid of doing the same mistakes as many blogger did.
These are the Basic Mistakes we shouldn't do as a Blogger which i gathered from other trustful information and also my personal experience i gained in the past. But after all, there's always a room of improvement for us.
Doing Copy-Paste is Prohibited
Many blogger in the world, mostly, will always begin their journey in blogosphere with a duplicate contents in order to get to know with blog. It's normal because we, as a newbie, will need a process to learn how to blog. I personally, need about 2-4 month to understand with how blog works, from posting article, changing templates, and knowing HTML code. I knew blog from my friend named Sugraha, who suggested me to use blog instead of website as a platform to enter the field of World Wide Web, and i must thank him for such a generous suggestion, because i'm not even regret to use blog than a static website.
Anyway, i did duplicate someone's contents around the World Wide Web as my first articles, but i always put the source address of that contents, avoiding copyright infringement. Do you want to know what result i get after duplicate those contents? I never get a traffic from Google Search Engine after 7 months keeping those duplicate articles in my blog archives, even a single one. Google never respect for duplicate contents, their searching process always prior to the original contents, not the duplicate one, and i must say that Google is too smart to be fooled by human being.
And after realised that what i did was wrong, i decided to not duplicate someone's contents again, i only use those articles as a sources of information and reference to write an original post. And the result was fantastic, i always got a significant amount of unique visitors per day for that original articles i wrote. So i suggest you to not doing a copy-paste articles in your blog, just write it yourself.
Back Up your blog now!
I recently read an articles from Pro Blogger named Yaro Starak (who i always mentioned in my previous posts). He said in his posts that his friend named A (sorry, i forgot his name) made a few blogs using Google Blogger service as a platform, but few months later, he found his blog got suspended by Google for violating the rule for using Google Blogger service. He was accussed of making splogs, or SPAM blogs. But the real mistake was he never made a back up posts, so he must be willing to let all of his blogs to be removed by Google.
So the message i want to tell you is, you must save all of your post you've made, just in case if someday, Google suspend your Blogger Account for some reasons, you still have a back up post. If you dont know how to back up your blog post, just read my previous post about Backing Up Blog Posts. What are you waiting for, hurry before Google suspend your Blogger Account.
Using Google ID instead of URL address on blog comments
Another mistakes i found and experienced as a newbie is, i always used my Google ID in my comments link instead of my blog URL address, maybe because i didn't want to bother myself to type my blog URL address in my comment ID. Do you understand with what i'm talking about? Ok let me explain to you so you will be clear.
Do you know that if we post our comment on someone's blogs, we will always need to enter our name, our email address, and the most important thing, our blog URL address. In Google Blogger service, we are provided with the option to use our Google ID, our name and URL address, our Life Journal ID, and so on, as link in our name. Obviously, if we are newbie, we will pick our Google Blogger ID as our name in the comments we've made, because if we stay logged in on our Blogger account, our Google ID will be shown in the first option, besides, we dont need re-enter our name and our blog URL address. I already told you that, in order to get our blog Pagerank to be enhanced, we need someone to link back through the link from other blogs, so if we use our Google Blogger ID instead of our Blog URL address as a link name, it will lead visitors to go to our Profile, not our blog. And that's such an in vain activities. So i suggest you to always use your blog URL address as a link name in the comment you've made on someone's blogs.
So those are the basic mistakes i found in my experience of blogging process and i really hope that you dont do those same mistakes i did in the past. Hope this information can be valuable for your journey of blogging in the future. Good luck bloggy!
