Hi bloggy readers,
In my previous post,
Configuring Meta Tag Google to Put Post Title Before Blog Title
I already gave you my first tip about how to deliver traffic by editing your blog meta data which will allow your post title to be seen first instead of your blog name in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs).
And in my other post,
Configuring Meta Tag Google in Order to Increase Targeted Traffic
I also told you how to configure the meta tag of our blog that will make it easier for the search engines to find the specific searches to your blog. Now let's talk about submitting your blogger sitemap with Google Webmaster Tool.
For many of you who don't know about Google Webmaster, it becomes a problem whereas the source of traffic to your blog basically comes from Google search engine itself, so if you are reading this article, i encourage you to begin activating your Google Webmaster account with your own Google account (e.g., Gmail).
After activating your Google Webmaster account on your Google account, now it's time to
How to Add URL to Google + Yahoo? and then, How to Send Sitemap for Blogger?.
Finally, this is the last step you must do, which is by submitting your blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster. Okay then, let's start the article!
1. Go to Google Webmaster
To begin this tutorial on submitting our blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster, now go to your Google Webmaster account by typing http://www.google.com/webmasters/ in your browser address bar.
2. Add your site/blog
Before adding your blogger sitemap to Google, firstly, you have to submit your site to the Google Webmaster in order to get your blog indexed to SERPs. Now click Add a site and after that, in order to inform Google that you are the owner of the blog you are submitting, you must verify the authority of your blog by putting the verification code in your template, specifically on the head position.
3. Click verify website
Okay, now click Verify the Website you wish to verify and then copy the verification code from Google Webmaster.
4. Paste the verification code to your blog template
Now Sign in to you Blogger Account. In the Dashboard, go to Layout/Design and then press the sub-tab Edit HTML.
After landing to the Edit HTML page, paste the verification code from Google Webmaster under the <head> code in your blog template. Take a look at the example below!
5. Save the Template
Now save the current change you've just made by pressing the Save Template button.
6. Submitting the sitemap
After submitting your blog to Google Webmaster, now it's time to submit your blogger sitemap. Now click on your website name and then in the Site Configuration, click Sitemaps and then press the Submit a Sitemap button. By pressing the button Submit a Sitemap, the drop-down form will be shown to you and you blog address will be automatically added before the blogger sitemap blank field. Look at the picture below!
Now copy the code below and then paste it in that blogger sitemap blank field. By putting this code in the sitemap form, you are about to submit all of your recent articles in your blog (up to 500 articles) to the Google SERPs.
Congratulation! You have successfully submit both your blog address and also your blogger sitemap to Google Webmaster. Now you have to wait for at least 4 weeks to let Google crawl your blog and index all of your posts around the SERPs.
I'm Out...
