Unconsciously, December is near in front of us, which means, we are gonna celebrate Christmas Day in the couple of months. Yeah, i never thought that time could pass so quickly, and suddenly, we are already at the end of the year. Anyway, there are lots of things that bloggers can do to celebrate Christmas with their blogs, such as placing Christmas banner on the blog heading, redesigning their current blog logo and adding it with Christmas decoration, posting a Christmas celebration card in their blogs and many more.
But, there is one great element that can be added to our blog in order to celebrate Christmas, and that's by adding a falling snow HTML into our blog. Yeah, by the sound of it, you might be baffled with how exactly we can put snow into our blog. Okay guys, here's the explanation. By adding a javascript into our blog template, the falling snow HTML will fall from the top of our blog to the bottom, and decorate the entire part of our blog layout. Interested? Just follow the steps below!
How to add falling snow HTML on Blogger blog?
1. Log in to Blogger
Firstly, go to http://www.blogger.com and sign in to your Blogger Account.
2. Press the Layout/Design button
In the Dashboard, now pick one of your blogs that you want to customize with this snow effect, and then press the Layout/Design button. Right after that, in the Page Element, press the sub-tab Edit HTML to begin installing a falling snow HTML into our blog template.
3. Paste the Script
After landing to the Edit HTML page, now press Ctrl + F at the same time to enter the find mode. Now find the code below:
</head>
4. Paste the Script code
Okay, after locating the code </head> in your blog template, now block the script code below, and then press copy. After that, put the script code above the code </head>
<script src='http://datecalendarwhatmakesblog.googlecode.com/files/faliingsnoweffect.js' type='text/javascript'/>
5. Save the Template
By pressing the save template button, now you can save the current change you've just made and see the result directly to your blog.
As you can see on your blog, if the javascript has been correctly placed into your blog template, the falling snow HTML will decorate the entire position of your blog.

this used to work on my blog but now its only snowing from left to right and the window keeps jumping up and down.. it worked before blogger changed the design-opportunities. what am i doing wrong?? :(
it doesn't work on my blog -____-)a
i already follow all of those steps, but it didn't working at all..
To Megurine Yuzuki Chi,
I don't understand with the problem you are currently having right now. Actually, i have tested this falling snow script on my testing blog and it worked perfectly.
You must also remember that the falling snow will appear in white color, so if you are currently using a white themed template in your blog, the falling snow cannot be seen perfectly and must be adjusted to a different colors that doesn't blend with the entire template color/body color.
Anyway, if you want to know how exactly to add a falling snow effect in different colors, you can check this post

No, i didn't say you must use white themed template to see the result of this falling snow effect.
What i meant to say is you have to use a template with another color besides "white". Such as black, red, blue, etc, etc.
i already use black theme before..and now i already change it with blue theme.
but.. it still doesn't work...
what's wrong with it?

If you still don't believe me that the script code in this article works perfectly, now go to this page to see that my testing blog that has been added with the falling snow effect. Anyway, my testing blog is currently using a BLUE themed template, and the color of the snow is WHITE.
Testing Blog Added with The Falling Snow Effect
I love the effect, but now my blog is hiccuping (jumping up and down, maybe like Kim's problem?). Can that be fixed?
To Susan,
I have a solution for your problem (and also to Kim). If your blog is "hiccuping" just like you said, from the top to the bottom, or right to the left, my best suggestion is you can try the other method, which can be found in this page below:
Customizing the Falling Snow Effect
1. And then, change the color of the snow into white with this HEX code: #fff.
2. After that, In Page Element, move the gadget to the top position of your blog layout. Remember, to the very TOP of your blog layout. Hope it works, because it also happened to me too, but i managed to solve it by placing the new widget to the top position of blog layout.
Anyway, don't forget to remove the Javascript code (from the top /head code) you've already installed in your blog template.
The snow works on my friends pages and will not work on mine...either way. Not in Edit HTMl or in adding a gadget. My first background was lighter, and I changed it to a dark one, still nothing. Is this mac compatible?
err , can you make that snow effect turns into another colour ?
To Pamela,
Sorry you had to wait for long time to get my reply. Anyway, about Macintosh incompatibility with this falling snow effect, well actually, i just found out about that from you, so thanks for giving me and other readers an input for this article. I am currently using a Windows-based Operating System in my Lappy, so i can't give anything in this matter.
But thanks for the input.
no need to Edit Html see this
