Filed Under : ,

Hi bloggy readers,
Having lots of great blogger widgets in our blog, whether on the sidebar area or below the heading area can have a great but also bad impact to our blog. As many of you know that lots of blogger widgets can create more attractive interface of our blog to the readers, which will lead visitors to stay longer in our blog. On the other side, embedding bunch of gadgets in our blog can really burden Google when reading our blog.

Moreover, there has been a rumor that Google and other search engines will start indexing blogs or websites by looking the speed of the page loading. So, that's why, i strongly suggest you to start banishing all the heavy widgets in your blog, especially on the article pages.

Anyway, removing blogger widgets of our blog via Page Element page (Dashboard - Layout/Design - Page Element) can be one hell of a job (damn.. it's the third times i've used that phrase) because in removing widget via Page Element, every widget must be removed one by one by clicking the Edit link, and that is such a waste of time.

That's why, in this post, i want to reveal about how to remove all the blogger widgets in the simple way, via Edit HTML page. Curious? Just read the whole post..

1. Log in to your Blogger Account
Now enter to and start signing in to your Blogger Account.

2. Go to Edit HTML
After landing to the Dashboard page, now press the button Layout/Design and then, switch the sub-tab to Edit HTML.

3. Find the Code
Okay, right now, i assume that you want to remove your blogger widgets from: Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Popular Posts, and Updated Posts. Now press Ctrl + F at the same to enter the find mode. After that, find the code that controls those 4 widgets in your blog. Usually, we will find that code on the bottom position of blog template.

<b:section class='sidebar3' id='sidebar3' showaddelement='yes'>
<b:widget id='HTML1' locked='false' title='Recent Post' type='HTML'/>
<b:widget id='HTML2' locked='false' title='Recent Comments' type='HTML'/>
<b:widget id='HTML7' locked='false' title='Popular Posts' type='HTML'/>
<b:widget id='HTML8' locked='false' title='Updated Posts' type='HTML'/>
Now pay attention to the red code above!. In your blog template, the code that controls blogger widgets usually begin with the tag code <b:widget id= 'HTML1' locked='false'...>.

If you are having a problem on locating that code, you can simply type the title of your blogger widgets you want to remove. For example, if you want to remove blogger widgets called "Recent Post", you can simply type "Recent Post" in the find mode (Ctrl + F).

4. Remove the widgets

Remember, you must only delete the red codes in that area and leave the remaining opening and closing tags as it used to be. So, here's the result:
<b:section class='sidebar3' id='sidebar3' showaddelement='yes'>

5. Press the Save Template button
